AMERICA'S OLD-TIME COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME

America's Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame

Located in the Pioneer Music Museum, Anita, Iowa, this "Hall of Fame" is unlike any other your're likely to see anywhere in the entire United States. When it was founded in 1976, nearly everyone of national stature involved with traditional country, bluegrass, or old-time music was inducted. Momentos and memorabilia were added later on. Every year after 1976, local, regional, national, and international personages have been honored and inducted. Not just performers, but also those that have written, broadcast, promoted, produced, supported, and promulgated old-time music have been included.

The induction process can not be purchased. Neither can it be manipulated through a committee selection, or bribed, or demanded. To be inducted into "America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame," the potential subject must be nominated by someone already in the Hall of Fame. Each inductee receives one nomination. In case of no nomination, or nomination of a deceased person, the next year's nomination reverts back to the NTCMA. Nominations are processed by the NTCMA, approved, and fianlly the nominee is notified. To receive the honor, and the plaque, the nominee must present themselves sometime during the 7-day NTCMA fund-raising festival, to accept the audience's standing ovation of appreciation. At that time the inductee is 'officially' inducted into the Hall of Fame. Donations to the cause are always acceptable, but will not necessarily guarantee induction. Please go to "National Old Time Music Festival" for more information on this delightful event that financiall supports the Hall of Fame.
